Additives - Sometimes additives are required to get the right consistency and feel of a product. Trying to keep our products as natural as possible, we set out to find what nature has to offer. . Below are additives we have chosen to use in our formulations.
- Stearic Acid - Stearic acid is a fatty acid that can be obtained from both animal and vegetable sources. We only use vegetable derived stearic in our formulations. It is commonly used in making candles, soaps and cosmetics.
Preservatives - There are many
preservatives on the market, but most are synthetic chemicals. Some are
rather benign and others suspected to be carcinogenic (check back soon for
research resources). In order to keep our products as natural as possible,
yet still safe, we chose a proprietary blend of essential plant extracts.
It features a synergistic combination of botanical extracts that, when combined
at proprietary levels, yields a natural preservative with a broad-spectrum
of antimicrobial activity. It has been fully tested for both anti-bacterial
and anti-fungal efficacy and safety. Independent tests confirm the product
to be safe when used at a level as high as 5x the recommended usage level
of 0.45%. It is, however, recognized by the FDA as an extract.
